Maiden Cops is a beat-em-up where you play as one of three characters - a salamander girl, a minotaur girl, or a petite bunny girl - and hit the streets to fight crime. The characters all play fairly distinctly from each other and they're all fun to use. This game sets itself apart by focusing more on weapons and special moves than most other beat-em-ups do. You mostly just use normal attacks to build up your special meter because the special attacks do way, way, way more damage. Weapons also do significantly more damage, and there are tons of them in every level.
Something else that sets the game apart is that after you beat the game the first time you can unlock and use cheats. You can be invincible and the weapons never break and have infinite special moves - and it freaking rocks. It does make the game kind of mindless, sure, but it's still pretty fun to just annihilate everything in your path. Using the cheats doesn't block achievements, which is even better.
As you play you earn money that you can then spend on the cheats or new costumes - some of which are freaking awesome, as well as increasingly sexy pictures of all of the characters, music tracks, and character profiles. They are worthwhile rewards that keep you coming back. I will say that some of the levels are better than others - there's one vehicle level that is just absolutely putrid - but overall the game is solid.
I unlocked half of the achievements after my first playthrough, but the rest of them require grinding enemy kills and earning enough money to unlock the extras. It takes 4-6 hours to do most of it, and for the $15 asking price that's pretty fair.
All in all, I really had a good time with Maiden Cops. The gameplay is fun, if basic, I love the cheats, the unlockable extras are worth the effort, and the girls are amazing looking. The $15 price is pretty much perfect, too, since it has a lot of content and decent replay value. If you're into beat-em-ups and like moe beast girls, Maiden Cops is easy to recommend.
