So, if you don't know, picross is a logic puzzle where you fill in spaces on a grid based on numbers next to each row and column. The numbers tell you how many spaces need to be filled, and the order, but you have to figure out their exact placement on your own. When all of the proper spaces are filled, it is supposed to look like a picture, but they never really actually look like anything unless you look at them cross eyed and upside down and also had a lobotomy recently. Anyway. Puzzles included in this release are mostly 10x10 up to 20x20. As you can imagine, bigger puzzles are a lot more difficult.
There are more than 1000 puzzles in all, which will take you hours and hours and hours to finish. And you have to finish them all in order to get all of the achievements. No, I haven't gotten them all, but I will get there eventually.
The game also includes a ton of unlockable junk to keep you motivated while you're grinding through 1000 puzzles. You unlock new outfits and accessories for the characters as well as a ton of items to customize the room that acts as the main menu. I do like playing dress up, so the costumes are appreciated and the little chibi versions of the characters cheering you on and getting grumpy when you mess up are totally adorable, but I really don't see the point of the room customization. Whatever. Better than nothing, I guess.
The music is the main draw of any Miku game, and Logic Paint S+ features 30 songs from Hatsune Miku and her friends. Now, question - Do people really like Miku's friends that much? I like Luka, because she's hot, and Meiko, because she's hot, but the other three could get Thanos snapped and I wouldn't even notice.
All in all, Hatsune Miku Logic Paint S+ is a pretty solid release all around with tons and tons of content. And maybe, just maybe, they'll actually put a rhythm game on Xbox someday. I've bought all of the Miku games on Xbox so far, so I'm doing my part. For $15, Logic Paint S+ is easy to recommend and well worth it - assuming you like picross already, anyway.
